History

 

S2 History 

In S2 pupils will study a 6/7 block of History whereby they will learn about World War II. Throughout this units pupils will consider key events of the War and will develop important skills. 

 

S3 History 

In S3 pupils will study World War I and consider the impact of the War at home and away. Pupils will also study the Rise of the Nazis; considering themes of power and intolerance. In their last year of their Broad General Education pupils will develop important skills and knowledge which will prepare them for their National Qualifications. 

 

National 4/5 History 

Pupils who study National 4/5 History will study 3 units: 

Scotland: The Scottish Wars of Independence.

Britain: The Making of Modern Britain

European/World: Free at Last? Race relations in the USA. 

Throughout these units of work pupils will develop their ability in source handling and applying their knowledge. 

 

Higher History 

Pupils who study Higher History will study 3 units:

Scotland: Migration and Empire 1830 – 1939

Britain: Britain 1851-1951

European/World: Appeasement: The Road to WW2. 

 

Throughout these units of work pupils will develop their ability to form an argument in their essay writing and pupils will also develop their source handling skills.
